This image has a strong inter-related concept with several layers of meaning interwoven into a warm stone palette. The images cross-reference aspects of Asian culture and western art tradition. The Frangipani was a symbolic choice as they grow prolifically in Indonesia yet also in my own backyard. I like the way the image is printed onto the surface of the paper with inks and the multi-layering of unseen thoughts that linger from an artist’s garden.
